Meet Claudio

Claudio was born and raised in a very small town in central Chile.

His father was a businessman who involved himself in many ventures throughout his life in order to create the best life he could for his son, Claudio, and four daughters

After completing his education, Claudio served in the military in Chile for two years.

Upon completion of his military service, Claudio desired to do something few Chileans ever did, leave his city and see the world. He began on foot, traveling to Argentina and eventually spending 7 years in various countries before arriving in America.

Claudio had a desire to continue his journey and travel to Europe, but when he arrived in the US, he began working as a mechanic to save money and became connected with his community through building relationships. He was in love with how clean and organized he found this country to be.

With time he decided to stay in America, and he saw a market for remodeling services. He went to the library and checked out books on how to lay carpet, and began offering services as a carpet layer. Claudio saw every challenge as an opportunity. He never said no to anything he was asked him to do, just went and checked out books to learn about how to accomplish what he needed.

In the 1990s, living in California, he met a friend from Iran who was opening a flooring showroom. Claudio became the installer for his friend’s business and had a good partnership with him for many years. The friend was his best man at his wedding in 2003 and although they’re separated by distance, they remain friends.

Claudio met Elissa at a large church in California in 2001, and they were married in 2003. Elissa is originally from Washington but had moved to California due to her father’s job years prior. Slowly, all of Elissa’s family members were moving back to their roots in the Seattle area and when she was pregnant with their second son, Claudio’s youngest sister fell ill in Chile and died suddenly. The young family traveled to Chile for her funeral and spent time with family there, leaving both of them longing for more connection with family.

After returning home, they decided to leave their apartment in California and move to Seattle to live with Elissa’s family until the new baby was born. Claudio was able to get a “one man show” remodeling business started quickly and as word spread he found himself very busy with work!

Claudio’s primary goal was to find a place to call a permanent home. Living in West Seattle for those months allowed them to get to know the surrounding areas, and they found a home with a yard that Claudio thought would be perfect for raising their 2 young boys. They purchased that home in Burien and moved in at the beginning of 2009, where they’ve raised their children and grown their family since that time.

Claudio has taught his family about the construction business and is now passing the torch to his children to do the brunt of the work in their family’s company.

Since becoming a US citizen in 2022, Claudio found a greater love for this country. He has thoughtfully voted in the recent elections and desires to support his community through serving on his city council.
